(That's true for our paper registration forms as well.) You can also print out a hardcopy of our Winter event form (http://www.coloradobiathlon.org/forms/entry.pdf), fill it out and mail or drop of it and your payment to me (1656 North St, Boulder, 80304). I've also posted a tentative schedule, which looks like: 0900-0930: race-day registration at the range; zero for pellet event 0930-1000: 3K pellet race (non-relay) 1000-1045: .22 zero period 1100: relay start I still need to work with Snow Mountain Ranch on the courses, but I anticipate that each relay team member will ski between 6km and 7km total. The cost of the trail pass is included in your race registration, and volunteers are provided with a pass gratis. However, you *must* have a trail pass on your person *before* you get on the trails. (In seasons past we've distributed them at our registration desk, wherever it happens to be.) So, *before* you put on your skis and head out to the range, stop by the nordic center sales counter (downstairs), tell them that you're competing or volunteering at the biathlon event, and that you need a pass. They should be prepared to hand you one. Again, you do not need to pay for the pass, since CBC will be paying SMR once we have final registration numbers and volunteer counts. We'll see how this honor system goes and tweak it if needed. If you end up paying for a pass, let us race officialy types know and we'll refund your cost. If you have an SMR season pass, simply follow whatever the usual day-use protocol is for that system. Secondly, in order to ease the transition of the new SMR administration, CBC will be setting our own course flags on Saturday. This only involves a few intersections in the Lowery-Meadow-Davis-short Wilson trail areas. Please let me know if you can help get some flags in place by 9:45am on Saturday. On-line, pre-registration is available and encouraged; just follow the "active.com" link from the event page on the CBC website (http://www.coloradobiathlon.org/schedule.html). On-line registration closes at 7:00PM Saturday night. As usual, we'll also have race-day registration at the range. In either case, be sure to pick up a trail pass at the Nordic center *before* you ski up to the range. You'll notice that we'll be running an "A" wave and a "B" wave. The only difference between waves is the start time and I hope that racers in one wave will be available to help out with race logistics (scoring, target resetting etc) for those racing in the other wave and vice versa. For adult racers within a given wave, racers will race the distance appropriate to their category but results will be compiled across both waves (i.e., each race category will have a single rank-ordering). We'll divvy up racers and waves at the range as we hand out bibs. Also, the staff at Snow Mountain Ranch are very busy these days and so our course flagging might be a bit thin (or non-existent). As a heads-up to you, dear racers, here are the courses we will be running: Men will do three laps of the 3.25km course. Women will do two laps of the 2.75km course (first and third lap) and one lap of the 2.2km course (it was either a slightly long race or a "more shorter" race---I opted for long thinking everyone will appreciate the added value of their entry fee) Youth Men and Youth Women will do three laps of the 2.2km course Kids will do three laps of the 1km course. If possible, we'll have the courses flagged Sunday morning and we'll announce course colors. But just in case we can't have the course flagged, STUDY THESE MAPS! (And thank you for your understanding.) Please feel free to email me if you have any questions or concerns. See you Sunday!
