To all relay competitors and event volunteers:

The SMR Nordic Center would like to adjust our approach for trail pass
distribution. The cost of the trail pass is included in your race
registration, and volunteers are provided with a pass gratis. However, you
*must* have a trail pass on your person *before* you get on the trails.
(In seasons past we've distributed them at our registration desk, wherever
it happens to be.) So, *before* you put on your skis and head out to the
range, stop by the nordic center sales counter (downstairs), tell them that
you're competing or volunteering at the biathlon event, and that you need a
pass. They should be prepared to hand you one. Again, you do not need to
pay for the pass, since CBC will be paying SMR once we have final
registration numbers and volunteer counts. We'll see how this honor system
goes and tweak it if needed. If you end up paying for a pass, let us race
officialy types know and we'll refund your cost. If you have an SMR season
pass, simply follow whatever the usual day-use protocol is for that system.

Secondly, in order to ease the transition of the new SMR administration,
CBC will be setting our own course flags on Saturday. This only involves a
few intersections in the Lowery-Meadow-Davis-short Wilson trail areas.
Please let me know if you can help get some flags in place by 9:45am on
Saturday.

See you at the range,
Julia
