Biathlon Learn to Ski and Race Day
Saturday, Feb 21, 2009
Venue: Snow Mountain Ranch.

50+ Colo. State Champion.

* Session one: 9:00-10:30
* Session Two: 10:45-12:15
Student participation limited to one session. ** Limit 12 students per
session, 6 per instructor.**
The lesson will be about pure ski technique, not Biathlon range procedure.
Diverse skill levels will be accommodated.
Once a session is full please sign up for the other session.
When a session is full, you may continue to sign up, but you will be
wait listed.

Please DO NOT SIGN UP IF YOU WILL NOT SHOW UP! You will deprive others
of the chance to learn and will have to do many penalty laps, best
case. If an emergency happens and you cannot attend, you must contact
me before Thursday at Noon so that I can contact a person on the wait list.

* Lunch 12:15 - 1:00 (BYO or at buy at the Skinny Ski Cafe)
* Practice Biathlon Race - 1:00-3:00 -at the Range
1/2 hour zero period. Honor system penalty loops.
Reverse Pursuit Interval start Prone, Prone, Standing, Standing.
Range-Lowery-Meadow-Range (or longer by acquiescence).
Relay Rounds (8 shots to hit the 5 targets per bout).
Handicap by previous race time in minutes or shortened course.
Slower skiers get a head start, chased by faster skiers.
Club Rifles and ammo: Rifle: $5, Box of 50 rounds: $5.
*** Must be Red Book Biathlon Certified to participate in the race. ***
*** Cost: $25 for one Ski Lesson Session ***
*** No charge for the practice race ***
Everyone is welcome to race, whether you attend a ski lesson or not.
Significant others are encouraged to spectate, cheer, and help during
the race.

Peter was a member of the Rossignol XC Factory Racing Team. He is
presently off to the World Winter Triathlon competion in Austria as a
Wax Coach. He does custom ski selection and fitting for Boulder Nordic
Sport, the premier nordic ski shop in the Western USA. He plans to
compete in the Norwegian Birkenbeiner and the Engadiner Ski Marathons
this Spring.
