Hi CBCers,

  Time to put your thinking caps on...  Our last official race is this
Sunday and in a departure from our schedule, I've decided to shake
things up just a bit.  Instead of running another super sprint (been
there, done that), we'll be racing an Individual. This is a 5-lap,
four-bout event for adults, PSPS, *no extra rounds* and with time
penalties instead of laps for missed targets (time penalty tbd).
Rather than the standard, soul crushing distances of 20 and 15km, for
men and women (resp.) we'll be using the Canadian geezer distances of
10 and 7.5km.  In addition, we'll be using brand new courses
(actually, they're the regular old courses, but we'll be running them
in reverse direction).  I've attached courses maps--the A wave will
race five laps of the red course; the B wave will race five laps of
the blue course; and kids will race either three, four or five laps of
the yellow course depending on age. Pay particular attention to the
range details for each course.  Lots to study before the weekend.

  We'll review the courses and format in detail at the post-zero
racers meeting but, after that, any confusion will be met with stern
rebuke and relentless humiliation.  Should be fun.

  As usual, I'll be running two waves with the hope that racers in one
wave will help out with the other wave.  Any other help, from friends
or family is always appreciated.

study before you venture onto the course. The schedule should be a
little easier to handle. It is:

0930-1000 registration *at the range* for anyone not pre-registered.
   You can register on-line at active.com

   Ignore the references to the Super Sprint format. :-) I'll try to
   get around to updating that tonight. You can also drop off a
   completed registration form to either Walter or me (contact us

Yo Club,

Thanks for a lot of fun this winter.  Hope you all had a good day racing
yesterday.  The Walter Warwick twists sounded like a great idea.
Variety is the spice, I hear.  I wasn't able to jump in but Claire and
our son, JC were out doing a little skiing of the recreational sort (no
weapons or raging heart rates) and the report was of a beautiful morning
at SMR.

You movers and shakers, club officials, vols and other rabid biathletes;
thanks for the give.  I've said it before, you all make biathlon as fun
as it is challenging (It's suffering, but in a good way, isn't it?).  

I'm about done skiing for the season I think.  Just wanted to shout out
that it's been a gas.

Hi CBCers,

  I've attached *preliminary* results from Sunday's race.  At this
point, they are grouped just by distance (we'll break them down by
gender/class before we post them to the web page).  Have a look and
make sure I've got the rough details of your race correct (i.e., the
time, the distance and the penalties).  Also, remember that total time
is the sum of the ski time, any adjustments (like the range hold for
yours truly) and 1 minute for each target missed (ouch--next year I'll
make our individual 30km long with 2 second penalties for missed
targets).  Contact me directly with any corrections or concerns you
have about the results.

  Finally, thanks again to all of you for racing.  This was a booming
season for the CBC; great turnout (even when the weather was not so
great), lots of new, enthusiastic and helpful racers and the return of
some familiar faces.  For those of you who can't just get enough
Colorado biathlon in your life, we'll be hosting a board meeting and
BBQ later this spring.  This will be your chance to offer suggestions
or ideas for making things even better for next season.  Details to
follow.  In the meantime, enjoy the rest of the fleeting winter and
use that summer training time well.

Hello All:
We are trying to schedule our annual West Yellowstone Summer Biathlon and are interested in input from potential regional participants.

The Bozeman Biathlon (MT Big Sky State Games) is the same weekend as the Summer National Champs.  We usually try to have our races in West and BZN on the same weekend so that travelers can get 2 races in for their travel time/dollar.  However, if lots of folks are planning on travelling to Lake Placid for Nationals/ WCh Team Trials anyway we would schedule the West Yellowstone race on a different weekend (Likely late June).  If we did do a different weekend than Bozeman we would have one formal race and I would be willing to help organize a 'time trial' on the second day in order to give you some more racing for your travel time/dollar.

Any thoughts?

Hi Marc,
  Thanks for putting this out.  I'm sure several Washington biathletes will make the trip if it doesn't conflict with our schedule.  We have events as follows.   I hope some of our friends from other areas make a trip to Washington this summer... we have some great, well run races.  If it's possible to schedule your races with these dates in mind, we'd love it.

  We are trying to schedule our annual West Yellowstone Summer Biathlon and are interested in input from potential regional participants.

  The Bozeman Biathlon (MT Big Sky State Games) is the same weekend as the Summer National Champs.  We usually try to have our races in West and BZN on the same weekend so that travelers can get 2 races in for their travel time/dollar.  However, if lots of folks are planning on travelling to Lake Placid for Nationals/ WCh Team Trials anyway we would schedule the West Yellowstone race on a different weekend (Likely late June).  If we did do a different weekend than Bozeman we would have one formal race and I would be willing to help organize a 'time trial' on the second day in order to give you some more racing for your travel time/dollar.

  Any thoughts?
