1) Non-certified people ARE ELIGIBLE to participate in the <a
href="http://www.coloradobiathlon.org/summer/">Summer Biathlon</a> on
Sunday, Sept 20. Get two races in one day. Mountain Bike and Running.
Rifles are available for rent during the races.<br>

2) The Range 'Fun'(work) Day is the day before the race. We will be
having a midday social barbecue, so come and sidle up to a real live
Biathlete to find out what it's all about. The range will be open for
practice after we finish up. FREE!!! Please let us know if you're
coming.<br>

3) The CERTIFICATION CLASS is definitely going to happen SUNDAY SEPT
27th. You need this class to compete with a .22 rifle in winter
races. It is approximately 1/2 full at this point. If you are

sign up</a> and send me a contact phone number. $20(includes 1yr
Individual membership) or $20+$5 per family member. (This great deal
incited one of our members to propose in order to cut costs!). Details

4) Our World Class <b>Biathlon Clinic</b> on <b>Sunday Oct 11th</b>
featuring Biathlon and Nordic US Olympian <b>Sarah Konrad</b> and
7-time military Olympian in X-C and Biathlon, and Collegiate and
Masters National Champion X-C skier <b>Michael Brothers</b> is
11/15ths full, so if you were interested, get to it. This is an
Incredible Value at $50 for the day. You MUST be 'Red Book' safety
certified (see #3) AND you should have your own rifle for maximum
benefit.<br>

5) When the SNOW finally arrives we will be scheduling some early
season Biathlon Ski Lessons with our very own awesome Crested Butte Ski
Team Coach and former Minnesotan Jenny Abraham (she like way outski's
her boyfriend, but that's not saying much!). Send your email if you're
interested in skiing fast.<br>

PLEASE BRING A (working) PEN, AND THE CORRECT AMOUNT (see below), OR

Also sunscreen, chapstick, warm clothes, /thin /gloves, hat, layered
look, sunglasses, running shoes (and warmer footgear), and a *heart
rate monitor* if you have one. The Range is at *9000 ft*. Dress
appropriately for standing around.

We'll hold it upstairs in the Snow Mountain Ranch (SMR) YMCA Nordic
Center between Fraser/Tabernash and Granby, pending YMCA approval.

Please be advised: Biathlon is a hard sport. Hard to learn to ski.
Fast. Hard to learn to shoot. Fast. Easy to suffer. Very. It's
really a ski race, where you happen to shoot. Not the other way
around.
